Protar Ointment contains Salicylic acid (a peeling agent) and Coal Tar (a keratoplastic agent).

Salicylic acid in Protar Ointment increases skin moisture, dissolves substances causing skin cell clumping (keratin), and removes dead skin cells, thereby softening the skin. Coal Tar promotes shedding of dead cells from the skin's top layer, slows skin cell growth, and reduces scaling, dryness, and itchiness.

Protar Ointment is generally suitable for most skin types affected by psoriasis and seborrheic dermatitis. However, consult with a healthcare provider if you have sensitive skin or other skin conditions.
